Wilma A. Klein, 90, formerly of Laurel Lane, Port Allegany, PA

PORT ALLEGANY- Wilma A. Klein, 90, formerly of Laurel Lane, died Thursday (April 29, 2010) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

Born November 18, 1919, in Norwich, PA, she was a daughter of John A. and Ida L. Peterson Carlson. On July 20, 1943, in Nashville, TN, she married Richard S. Klein, who died Oct. 8, 2001.

Mrs. Klein had been employed by the former Sylvania Co. of Emporium and later with Pierce Glass Co. (now Saint-Gobain Container Co.) of Port Allegany, before her retirement.

She was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Austin High School.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Allegany, and the Baptist Women. She was also a gray lady at the former Port Allegany Community Hospital.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Gordie) Rees of Roulette, and Janice (Curly) Rennells of Port Allegany; two grandsons, and three granddaughters; several great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, a grandson, Joseph Rennells, a great-grandson, Wade Kio; a brother, Melvin Carlson, two sisters, Gertrude MeKernan Rifle, Judy Manning Southwick.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (My 1, 2010) with Rev. Michael Culver, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church.
