Elsie J. Mattison, 82, of Gaines, PA

Elsie J. Mattison, 82, of Gaines, PA, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Jersey Shore, PA.

Born February 6, 1928, in Wellsboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold, Sr. and Florence (Pope) Keck. She was married to Thomas L. Mattison, Sr., who predeceased her in 1997.

She was employed by the Galeton Production Company and the Gaines Tackle Shop. Elsie was a member of the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church in Gaines, and the Gaines Thimble Club. She loved doing yard work, crocheting, feeding the hummingbirds, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are: two daughters, Nancy (Richard) Wildbrett, Hurst, TX and Susan (David) Seyler, Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Shane (Donna) Seyler, Corning, NY, Jason Seyler, Jersey Shore, Toby (Steffany) Wildbrett, Flower Mound, TX, and Kristin (Josh) Townsend, Gainesville, TX; four great grandchildren; her stepmother, Shirley Keck, Wellsboro; a brother, Harold (Helen) Keck, Jr., Wellsboro; two sisters, Rosa Mae (Tracy) Shaw, North Carolina and Constance Peters, Pennfield, NY; half brothers and half sisters, Donnie, Debbie, Carol, Karen, and Steven; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie was predeceased by a son, Thomas L. Mattison, Jr. on July 31, 2005.

Friends may call on Monday, May 10, 2010 from 10:00 – 11:00a.m. at the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church, Gaines. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00a.m. with the Rev. David Shultz officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or to the Community Nursing Service of Clinton Co., 124 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven, PA 17745.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton.
