Evelyn B. Allen, 83, of Westfield, PA

Evelyn B. Allen, 83, of Westfield, PA, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY.

Born December 18, 1926, in Westfield, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Parker) Lewis. She was married to Asaph L. Allen, who predeceased her in 1966.

She was employed by Galeton Production for several years and then by the Electri-Cord in Westfield for 25 years retiring in 2001. Since retiring, Evelyn has remained busy by being a personal caretaker in Westfield and the surrounding area. She was a member of the Knoxville VFW, the Galeton VFW, the Elkland Moose, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed walking in the area parades as a clown and loved making people laugh.

Surviving are: a son, Stephen E. Allen, Westfield; a daughter, Sandra J. (Earl) Baker, Galeton; a grandson, Jason W. Allen, Westfield; two great granddaughters, Ashley Kae and Mikarra Shea Allen; three sisters, Mary (James) Potter, Westfield, Virginia (Harold) Alexander, Wellsboro, and Norma Fox, Bath, NY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was predeceased by two bothers, Donald Lewis in 1943 and Harold Lewis in 2005, and a brother-in-law, Lyle Fox.

Friends may call on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 8:00am at the Champlin Cemetery, Westfield. Pastor Ed Collins will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
