G T Thompson Shows He's Tuned In On America In The 21st Century

Thompson Supports “America Speaking Out”

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, today announced his support for an effort to reach out to the American people to engage them in a new agenda for the nation called “America Speaking Out”.

“The agenda in Washington has convinced many that the Congress just is not listening,” said Thompson. “House Republicans plan to offer a new policy agenda, but we want to include the American people in building that agenda. Wouldn’t that be surprising to find the Congress actually taking the time to listen to the people?”

Thompson said the Republicans repeatedly have offered ideas when they disagreed with the Democratic majority. “We are committed to smaller more accountable government while watching the unfortunate reality of more and more spending against the will of the people.”

AmericaSpeakingOut.com is a new website where anyone, of any or no political party, is welcome to tell Republicans their suggestions, solutions, directions, policies and principles. On the website people can debate the ideas posted by others and share the debate with friends and neighbors. Here is the website: http://www.americaspeakingout.com

“I believe this dialogue of ideas will allow full and open discussion and ultimately allow us to implement the priorities of the people,” said Thompson. “This effort will utilize new communication tools for people to express their hopes and dreams for this nation.”

Does GT speak for everyone or just the Conservatives?
Glenn, please remember that once elected, you speak for ALL of us!!!!!
Your divisive, open hostility to members of the public who are on the other side of the political spectrum is disturbing, to say the least.
Please, for the sake of all of us, try to legislate from a point of view that doesn't make at least half us us the enemy. Also, remember that Obama and his brand of politics carried PA in the election

I have totally lost all confindence in any elected official. Dem or Rep. Talk Oil/Gas drilling in our area and see what the say. Uhh, umm, well, uhh, what a beat around the bush before elections! Don't dare take a stand and of course, $$$$ to the state so don't ask any questions because they really don't know the answers or want to avoid them..Honesty is all I ask from an elected official and that just isn't happening!

Republican smaller government during the previous administration seemed to consist of cutting agency payroll and then outsourcing to the private sector for comparable services.

I think we wound up tripling the deficit during this period.

Some government services are absolutely necessary and should have an antagonistic relationship with corporate entities they oversee. NOT being antagonistic brought us the disaster in the gulf.

I don't particularly trust the democrats right now, Glenn, but after 16 years of Republican Revolution in Congress, I trust the GoP a whole lot less. And you've done nothing so far to renew my faith in the GoP.

PS, the massive spending by this administration was necessary to clean up a bunch of the mess your party left us with...

I will not forget that for a long long time.

This is a joke right? committed to smaller government....

This appears to be an appeasement tactic because they know the natives are growning weary and restless.

Why do all of them always tell us they are committed to smaller government, yet it is the biggest it has ever been?

I'm committed to weight loss to, but if I don't stop palling around with Ben & Jerry, it ain't going to happen.

If only we could hold them criminally liable for their broken promisses......
