Marie E. Bair, 65, formerly of Eldred, PA

ELDRED, PA - Marie E. Bair, 65, formerly of Eldred, died Thursday (May 6, 2010) at Bradford Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 10, 1944, in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of Paul and Isabelle Moran Sheffer Sr. On Sept. 9, 1972, in Shinglehouse, PA, she married William Bair Sr., who survives.

Mrs. Bair was a 1962 graduate of Smethport High School and had resided in Eldred for many years.

She had been employed at Maple Manor as a drug and alcohol counselor of several years. For 38 years, she was employed by Zippo Manufacturing Co. in Bradford, retiring in 2007 due to poor health.

Mrs. Bair was a member of the First Church of God in Eldred and was a sister of the Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club. She enjoyed many activities including bowling, motorcycle riding, dancing, playing cards and board games. She loved time spent at her camp and being with family and friends.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Rob (Debby) Roberts of Salamanca, NY, and Billy (Christina) Bair Jr. of Eldred; seven grandchildren, Heather, Zachery, Joshua (Jessica), Tyler, Kody, Ashleigh and Christian, all of Eldred; a great-grandson, Bryin; two brothers, Paul (Pat) Sheffer Jr. of Rew, PA and John (Sharon) Sheffer of Cyclone, PA; a sister, Laura (Dennis) Gordon of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, James Roberts, in 2007; and a sister, Donna Walters.

Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred on Saturday (May 8, 2010) from noon to 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the First Church of God in Eldred, with the Rev. James Kazimer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Church of God; or the McKean County Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 20 School St., Bradford, PA 16701.
