Nancy K. Klahr, 85, of Coudersport, PA

Nancy K. Klahr, 85, of Coudersport, died Sunday, May 23, at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.

Born on November 8, 1924 in Middletown, she was the daughter of Charles D. and Irene Fasnacht Keyser. On January 19, 1947 in Middletown, she married Donald D. Klahr who died on July 12, 2005.

She had resided in Coudersport for the past 40 years and had been employed as a bookkeeper at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital; was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the St. Paul’s Piecemakers; was also a member and past treasurer of the Coudersport New Century Club, was a former Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Susquehannock Trail Club; enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hiker, skier, and snowshoer; she was an excellent cook, accomplished at preparing edible wild plants and game and was a talented seamstress, quilter, and homemaker; and she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters Christine K. (Steve) May of Westminster, Md., Jennifer K. (Robert) Elliott, and Rebecca K. (Joseph) Monger, all of Coudersport; seven grandchildren; and one brother Dale (Betty) Keyser of Lakeland, Fla.

There will be a receiving of friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, at which time a memorial service will be held, with her pastor the Rev. Evon McJunkin officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Middletown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 3 Borie Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
