Potter Players presents Smokey Joe’s Café

Smokey Joe’s Café ,the electrifying musical revue of the timeless songs
of Leiber and Stoller will be presented May 14 and 15, @ 7:30 PM at
the Coudersport Area Jr. and Sr. High School Auditorium.

The Potter
Players, the Coudersport community theatre organization, will be
producing this Broadway Musical which showcases 39 pop standards,
including rock and roll, rhythm and blues songs written by songwriters
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.

In the revue format, the songs are
presented by various members of the cast in various combinations, with no dialogue. There are novelty songs (“Charlie Brown”), romantic ballads (“Spanish Harlem”) and infectious melodies (“There Goes My Baby”).

features some of the greatest songs ever recorded including such hits as
“Hound Dog”, “On Broadway”, “Love Potion #9”, “Yakety Yak”, “Poison Ivy”
, “Jailhouse Rock”, “Kansas City” and “Stand By Me” . This is a fully
staged musical which will include a seven piece band, scenery, lighting,
and costumes.

Come and join the rock ’n’ roll dance party of the year, as some of the
most popular hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s come alive with singing by the
leading vocalists Anne Acker, Sheldon Carpenter, Jared Empson, Holly
Garrity, Dustin Giffin, Daivd Hauber, Angela Kellert, Luke Patterson ,
and Stephen Sevinsky. They are backed up by band members Joel Anderson,
guitar; Brian Bradley, percussion; Greg Eldred, saxophone; Anne
McCleary, keyboard; Bryan Neff, drums; and Don Vought, bass. Completing
the cast roster are dancers Traci Bennett and Crystal Morales, and
vocalists Barbara Busch, Jackie Fosmer, Bob Johnson, Kathy Mitchell, John
Sherer, Bob Smith, and Betty Wallace.

Tickets prices are $12.00 for Adults and $8.00 for Students and Senior
