Rollover Crash In Upper Grimes Injures Four

Minor Injuries For 4 In Tuesday Crash
A teen driver and her three passengers suffered only minor injuries in a rollover crash Tuesday evening, according to a report just released by State Police from Kane. The crash occurred on the Upper Grimes Road in Liberty Township, a half mile west of the Freer Road in Liberty Township.

Fire and Ambulance crews from Port Allegany had a hard time finding the scene which was first called in as Open Brook, then North Freer Hollow, South Freer Hollow and Baker Road.

Medics located the crash on Upper Grimes Road, a dirt road between South Freer Hollow that connects to the Baker Road that goes to Bush Hill and Route 6. Four occupants were transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital by Port Allegany Ambulance for treatment of their injuries.

Troopers said the 1997 Ford Escort, operated by Kari L. Wilber, 18, of Smethport, PA, was traveling east on Upper Grimes Road at an apparently high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the road into an embankment. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and rolled over, coming to rest on it's upright position on the roadway.

Passengers were Lena M. Carr, 20, of Smethport, PA and two 15 year old male juveniles from Smethport. Troopers did not identify the juveniles.

Wilber was charged with (not) DRIVING AT A SAFE SPEED.
