Truck-Lite earns $40 million contract

To supply lighting upgrade kits to Army
Lock Haven Express

McELHATTAN - Truck-Lite Co. Inc. has announced it recently received a contract valued at approximately $40 million from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) to supply 11,000 Route Clearance Vehicle (RCV) LED Lighting Upgrade kits.

Delivery of the kits will begin immediately and is expected to be completed within two years.

"We are extremely excited and proud to get this request from our government to supply this product," said Truck-Lite President Brian Kupchella. "The RCV LED Lighting kit has been released for several years, performing with 100 percent operational readiness. We've received positive feedback from our soldiers, including that they feel the improved lighting allows them to see hazards quicker, potentially saving lives and making their mission just that much easier." a 40 mil contract ... bet they still dont pay the employees nearly what they deserve.

The employees should be grateful they have jobs in this area. Sorry to be blunt, but that is the way it goes.

the democrats keep saying things are getting better by the minute. and that thing in the whith house is claiming the same thing, so just wait a day or two and you will be getting called a big paying job soon.

a job is a job... complain, sit home and collect unemployment, or get up and go to work. Why does everyone expect to have everything handed to them instead of working for it. I dont think this is what our fore fathers envisioned to be honest.

$9 an hour was good money back in 1985.

I love the blatant racism around here that not many people seem to have a problem with. "that thing in the white house". It's no wonder areas like this are the butt of so many jokes.

I think the point being made was they are working for it and getting paid beans for their hard work.

To poster 11:24 "that thing" is called President Obama. How's this, I don't think racist deserve to be allowed to post on here. Get a life you hick!

To poster 11:24. That "Thing" is called The President of The United States. You can smell a racist without even being around them. Get a life you low-life and learn to show a little respect.

Let me try this again.....

I didn't write the comment that called our President a "thing." However, that is not "racists!" It's simply childish!!

I've used the same term to describe a few people that irritated me when I found myself being CHILDISH....they were all white!

Maybe you can't buy steak with the wages but at least you can buy food. That is better than nothing. No job no food take your choice.

Hopefully this will result in more veterans being hired at the Coudersport plant!

Just because you call ANYONE a name does not make you racist. I've called lots of people names and they may or may not have the same color skin as me. Just because you don't like someone doesn't make you a racist. You need to stop using the term when someone disagrees or doesn't like someone. I don't know how the person that called Obama a "thing" feels about race, but you are just as wrong to assume it WAS about race.

poster 2:07 you are the real joke! what we really need is a few more outside opions on on our own econemy, thanks but no thanks!

Anonymous said...

It's simple economics...if they can't find enough people at $9.00 hr, they will raise the wage to attract more. If they can, then they won't. And if you think that your job costs $9.00 hr. you better think again. Add the cost of U/C, matching SS, insurances, health insurance costs, etc. I agree, be thankful you have a job. If you don't like it, take a better one. If you can't find a better job, do the very best you can and undoubtedly the company will recognize your contribution and do whatever it takes to keep you on board. If you are just whining because you want more and contribute little, then YOU are the problem with America today!

For real? Pot. Kettle. Black?

You accuse someone of being a racist as you throw around a real racist term "hick". Then in your futile attempt to label the poster as such you say they shouldn't be allowed to post here. Seems that would be stripping someone of their right to free speech, a right that gave minorities in this country liberty in the first place.

Pathetic a white person cannot even say "thing" without being a racist anymore.

Get a grip.

Well said 10:22, but lets not forget it costs the employer more than $9/hr.(far more) because our government is oversized and out of control.

On the other side of your argument (the Socialist side) we'd rather make the employer pay even more, AND take even more of the $9/hr. from the employee so that the government can hand it out to those who don't want to work at all.

Agree 8:22 we have allowed our country to free fall out of control. When America speaks, politicians aren't listening! We are called rebels, troublemakers and communists, even Nazis when we oppose a socialist agenda, tax increases and wasteful spending! Its time for real change, not political rhetoric to win an election, give me someone that can stand up to special interests and represent the vast majority that just want LESS Govt. and lower taxes! Bad things happen when good people do nothing! I'm in...

What the **** ever happened to Freedom of Speech & Opinion?

Anyone here still voting for the D or
R's, deserves what they get.

Like 605 said, Ron Paul is the only man with character that matches this countrys freedom & liberty principals.

If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.

You don't get paid for the hour. You get paid for the value you bring to the hour.

We get paid for bringing value to the market place.

If your not getting "paid" enough, increase your value to the market and you will be rewarded.
