Live Wires Down
At 10:50 am on Saturday, Roulette Dept. 46 is answering a call to 306 Card Creek Road for traffic control at the scene of live wires down across the roadway.

Apparently the Roulette Fire Department does not understand the definition of Non-Emergency response. There was absolutely no need for car after car responding to this situation with lights blazing and tires squealing when it was dispatched as a "Non-Emergency" response with PSP on scene and having the situation under control. I love our fire fighters, and what they do, but this was a situation that was un-necessary. Especially considering that there are people everywhere with the yard sales going on.

First of all there is a necessity for the blue lights and I get the whole non emergency thing but I disagree...Now I agree with the whole speed thing, but would you like to be the unsuspecting person who drives across the live wires because nobody is there to direct you around? I know I wouldnt! Obviously if the fire department was called there was some type of problem that required more than just the average citizen know it all. It seems no matter what the Roulette Volunteer Fire Department does or responds to, people complain!! I mean really? They are there to do a job! Although there is no pay and they get flack from everybody in the community such as the posters on here and still do it they all have my respect!!!

What part of the quote "PSP on scene and have contacted the electric company" is it that you did not get? This means that there is a law enforcement officer on scene, protecting the area and preventing accidentally driving across the live wires. Therefor it is reasonable to assume, that they just want someone else on scene to assist or take over so they can go about their more important duties. Nobody was in danger and there was no need for the type of driving behavior that was demonstrated for this incident. Understandably, had the situation been different, and had it not been dispatched as a "Non-Emergency" response, then the response that it was given would have been warranted.
