Camp Cadet Graduates Another Class Of 12 & 13 Year Olds

Another Successful Northern Tier Camp Cadet

campcadet-formationAnother successful Northern Tier Camp Cadet concluded on Friday with the traditional graduation ceremony. The weeklong event at Mansfield University provides an atmosphere of a police academy and emphasizes self-discipline for 12- and 13-year-olds from Potter, Cameron and Tioga counties.

Among the driving forces of Camp Cadet is Robin Freeman of Potter County. Senior Judge John Leete was also an active participant at this year’s camp.

Northern Tier Camp Cadet is designed to create a better understanding between the youths of the three-county area and professional law enforcement. This year’s cadets participated in tactical team exercises, crime scene processing, communications, orienteering, and swimming.

campcadet-001They also interacted with municipal officers, probation officers, state troopers, and other members of the law enforcement community to gain a better understanding of, and respect for, their roles.

The cadets are shown here as they rehearsed for the graduation ceremony at Mansfield University’s Straughn Hall.

Robin has been doing a fantastic job with this to keep the camp going. Those kids look so proud as they line up for the ceremony and I bet the parents were even prouder. Thank you Robin!
