How is it illegal to record a conversation that you were involved in, whether there was consent or not? Does that mean that college students who record their professors without specifically telling the prof., should go to jail? When you call 911 or a police station, the calls are recorded, but they never tell you that, but the conversation can be used as evidence. I don't get it.

It depends on the state. Some states have a one party consent, others have a two party consent. I believe PA has a two party consent.

People have been arrested for recording police before. A man in coudersport got arrested for putting a recorder on his dash when he got pulled over.

Double standards I suppose, remember the law is ... above the law.

Law Enforcement must announce at every traffic stop that you are being recorded and because of the video cameras that are in police vehicles police and their tactics are being recorded.

So "big brother" is actually doing two jobs at once. Recording the offense and the officers behavior.

Double standard?! eh??

I am a firm believer that you should never say anything that you don't want recorded-that way you keep yourself out of trouble.
