DUKE CENTER, PA - Margery J. Lehman, 88, of Duke Center died Sunday (June 20, 2010) at Warren General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born Nov. 25, 1921, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Karl and Thelma Neal Beyeler. On Jan. 6, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, she married Harry I. Lehman, who passed away May 20, 2006.

She was a 1939 graduate of Bradford High School and had resided in Duke Center for more than 50 years.

She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for more than 25 years, retiring as postmaster.
Mrs. Lehman was a member of the Duke Center United Methodist Church for many years, a member of the Duke Center Garden and Study Club, was active in the Parent-Teacher Association of Otto-Eldred and had held several offices, member of Keystone Chapter #2 Order of the Eastern Star of Duke Center, Smethport Country Club where she was active with the women's bridge group and the Red Hat Society of Duke Center. She was an avid reader and was very supportive of the Bradford Area Public Library.

Surviving are a son, Neal (Marilyn) Lehman of Tulsa, OK; a daughter, Suzanne (Av) Painter of Warren; six grandchildren. Scott (Holly) Lehman, Bryan (Maren) Lehman, Curtis Lehman, Courtney (Daniel) Halle, Paige (Corey) Boyer and Dustin (Cari) Painter; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Matt (Twila) Beyeler of Russell; and a sister, Betsy Maitland of Stuart, FL.
She was predeceased by a brother, Wade Beyeler.

A memorial service will be held Aug. 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Duke Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Sheesley, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

The family requests memorials be made to the Bradford Area Public Library, 67 W. Washington St., Bradford, PA 16701; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under direction of the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, PA.
