Tri-Axle Drilling Truck Overturns On Coudersport Pike Tuesday/Driver Lifeflighted

Driver injured in crash

Truck goes over embankment on ‘horseshoe curve’

SWISSDALE - A Florida man working for a natural gas drilling company was injured Tuesday afternoon when his tri-axle flatbed truck hauling "drill steel" and towing a pickup truck left the road and went over an embankment, trapping him inside for almost two hours, police said.

Adam J. Schreier, 23, of Summerfield, Fla., was listed in fair condition today at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was taken by Lifeflight medical helicopter.

The accident occurred on the "horseshoe curve" of Coudersport Pike, or Route 664, just north of the Swissdale Crossroad in Woodward Township, at about 3 p.m., state police at Lamar said.

PennDOT closed the road for about three hours as rescue personnel freed Schreier from the overturned vehicle. More...
