Although the businesses featured will primarily be from the Northern Tier of PA, their stories will be of interest to business owners throughout the Marcellus shale area.
There is a growing need for reliable providers of products and services to the Marcellus shale natural gas industry. Pennsylvania's small businesses have for years provided a diversity of products to the natural gas industry, and with the growth of the business it provides emerging
entrepreneurs and existing business‐owners new opportunities. This workshop will provide you with insights to help you understand, explore, and take advantage of business opportunities arising from the continuing development of the Marcellus shale and the growth of the natural gas industry. Topics covered include a brief overview of the types of goods and services typically needed by natural gas companies, the Master Service Agreement process, defining what Operator Qualified Certification is and who needs it, discussing what type of safety training is typically required to work on a job site, and what type of insurance requirements are typically required for those working with the industry.
