George E. Sisson Jr., of 7474 Forman Hollow Road, Bolivar, NY

BOLIVAR, NY - George E. Sisson Jr., of 7474 Forman Hollow Road, passed away on Monday (Aug. 23, 2010) at his residence.

Born on Jan. 1, 1945, in Weston, WV, he was the son of George E. and Bernadine Hull Sisson.

George attended Bolivar Central School. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for several years. He was formerly employed by Mapes Woodworking in Wellsville, the Town of Bolivar Highway Department and for the past 38 years at Cutco Cutlery Corp., in Olean. He was a member of the Richburg Rod and Gun Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are a son, Mark Sisson of Richburg; three grandchildren; a brother, John Sisson, of Olean; four sisters, Vonda Sisson of Chattanooga, TN, Sandra (Paul) West of Painted Post, Sharon (Pete) Caya, of Scio, and Anna (Mark) Bresson, of Port Allegany, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 28, 2010) at the Schaffner Funeral Home in Bolivar. The Reverend Roy Elliott, of the Bolivar House of Prayer, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.

Memorials made to the Richburg Rod and Gun Club would be appreciated by the family.
