Seismic Survey Workers Charged With Trespassing

Seismic survey personnel are apparently placing wires for testing on properties that they don't have permission to be on. State Police at Coudersport charged three Texas men with Criminal Trespass last week.

Dennis Zinck, of Shinglehouse, PA, reported that Geokinetics had placed a line on his property at 888 Clara Road in Clara Township, without having prior approval to do so. The company was able to identify the survey team members assigned to that location.

Celestino Amaya-Chavez, 40, of Lufkin, TX, Edgar Otero, 31, of Pharr, TX, and Jorge Posadas, 33, of Houston, TX, were all charged with 1 count of Criminal Trespass. They will answer the charges before District Judge Barbara J. Easton of Shinglehouse, PA.

Pennsylvania General Energy, conducting a seismic survey in the Roulette area, contacted property owners last Winter to get permission for personnel to come on those properties.

Interestingly, a survey being done by the Centre Daily Times shows a majority of residents in that area would refuse to let seismic survey people on their lands.

The boys at PGE better translate those seismic leases into spanish a little better.

But here's a better one.

They will be drilling in cemeteries.

Let's see the almighty Republican Tom Ridge defend this one. Heaven help ya Tommy.

And their getting picked up on warrants too apparently.

EULALIA TWP. – Jorge L. Posadas, 33, of Houston, TX, was arrested Friday at the Millstream Inn in Sweden Valley, after police, while conducting a separate investigation, learned that he was a fugitive from the state of Texas. State Police took Posadas into custody without incident after confirming the outstanding warrant with Texas law enforcement officials. Posadas was charged with Arrest Prior to Requisition in District Judge Annette L. Easton’s courtroom and remanded to the Potter County Jail without bail.

What ever happened to shooting trespassers? Let one of these Texas boys step onto MY property and we'll see what happens! Hope they aren't gun shy! And they damn well better be bullet proof! LOL!

Remember, they are here to do you harm and to change your way of life. If ever there was a reason to protect yourself and your property as per the second amendment, THIS is it!

We don't need no trespassing oil company thugs around here! Let's send them back to where they came from!

Local's getting jobs huh? Must not be any locals qualified to unspool wires across the ground in our area or plug in the extension cords they use for this operation.

I copied and pasted the link left by the 01:54 am poster. I only got the newspaper site and no specific article on drilling. After a search for cemetery drilling I found two articles, both of which stated The Catholic Cemeteries Assoc signed leases for drilling and in one Tom Ridge says he wouldn't want drilling next to his own burial plot. He never advocated drilling in a cemetery that I saw in either article.

Trust me, they know English better than we know. I can't blame them for preferring to speak their native language.

1. Republican Tom Ridge has been hired for $75,000 a Month to steer & spin the conversation about gas in a positive and acceptable light

He has no expertise in the gas industry, he is being paid for his influence & contacts throughout Pa

2. The gas industry has signed leases to drill under catholic Cementeries in Pittsburgh.

With the exception of a wry little quip about not wanting to have a rig next to his stone, he has not addresses this from an industry perspective.

If he thinks the gas company should not drill in/under Cementeries, he should just say so.

If he thinks it's a good idea, he should say so.

All common sense says it's not the best idea, but his bank account and allegiance and marriage to the industry say otherwise.

Joseph Heller would enjoy this.

I thought Jorge Posadas played for the Yankees.

Did anyone force the cemeteries to sign the lease? Maybe you should level some of your criticism on them as well. Personally I wouldn't want them drilling next to myself or my family either. Ridge is accused of spinning drilling in a positive way. Ok, but the spin goes both ways.

Anonymous said...

OMG. YES YES of course, it goes both ways.

All parties have succumbed

The point is the money drives the decisions.

Leasing a Cemetery is a bad idea
Drilling a Cemetery is a bad idea
Defending drilling on a Vemetery is a bad idea.

How's that? Criticism for all, not just your sacred Republican Tom Ridge.

For what those guys get paid, I doubt ANY of you High Brow people from Potter County would do the work. You people are way better than that, I mean look at some of the insightful, highly educated posts you leave... LMAO

I highly doubt anyone from Texas is gonna step foot on your rented lot in the trailer park. Don't worry.
