A Poem For My Grammy

Tears, all these tears, how they run from my eyes.
The pain is unbearable, I'm so broken inside.
For I have just lost, a woman so dear to me.
This love for my Grammy, it's so clear you see.
The woman who held me, held me from birth.
Has gone so quickly, gone away from this Earth.
"Grammy, Grammy, I miss you," I cry!
Yet I will never question God, question Him why.
I simply think of this as an irreproachable crime,
No one's at fault, but it was merely your time.
You taught us to love, and that - I will never forget,
Is the greatest gift of all, so how can I fret?
Please don't worry about me Grammy, or my grandfather,
For what a blessing it is that we all still have each other.
Wherever my life takes me I'll always carry your name,
And your memory burning in my heart; an eternal flame.
I know you're in heaven, and probably seedin',
A fig tree for us, in the Garden of Eden.
Please help me stay strong Grammy, I don't want to cry.
But it's just so hard - for me to say goodbye.
Until the day we meet again I leave you with this,
See you at the Pearly Gates Grammy, greet me with a kiss.
And sing with the angels high above, like we did in our days,
I love you forever. Forever and always.
Love, Your Granddaughter.
