Vicki Ouellette Flamingoed By Residents Of Sweden Valley Manor

Vicki Ouellette Recognized by
Sweden Valley Manor Residents

Coudersport - 8/27/2010: In true incognito fashion, Vicki Van Zile Ouellette of Coudersport, was Flamingo'ed in the dark by the Coudersport Rotary Club last week while she slept, thanks to the residents of the Sweden Valley Manor whom wanted to show their gratitude for her friendship and dedicated volunteer work at the Manor!

During Vicki’s 4 ½ years of volunteer service at the Manor, she has been recognized by the administration for furthering the Manor’s mission to provide compassionate, quality health care to all residents and their families, ever mindful of each individual’s dignity and right to self-determination through the friendship and warmth she has shown to the residents, coupled with her determination to keep the residents active during their stay at the Manor.

Vicki spends her Mondays at the Sweden Valley Manor escorting the residents to Catholic Mass and stays to participate in the Mass along their side. She can be found Tuesday mornings facilitating the AM program News and Coffee, assisting with a creative project or reading local history to the Manor’s residents.

Vicki visits with residents one-on-one in their rooms and spends time talking with them, always providing a smile to all the residents of the Manor. Vicki also participates in the Wednesday Sing-along Group.

Vicki is one of only twenty-one Coudersport area residents that will be Flamingo’ed this season by the Coudersport Rotary Club, a fundraising program founded upon the principle of “Service Above Self”.

Although Vicki was #11 on the Flamingo Recognition List, her volunteer work, dedication and friendship has clearly made her #1 this season with the residents of the Sweden Valley Manor!
