Fly Flag On September 11

GET YOUR FLAG READY!

Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign and PLEASE forward
this Email immediately to everyone in your address book asking
them to also forward it.

If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those
people do the same ... you get the idea.

THE PROGRAM:
On Saturday, September 11th, 2010, an American flag should be
displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in
the United States . Every individual should make it their duty
to display an American flag on this ninth anniversary of one our
country's worst tragedies. We do this honor of those who lost
their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who
continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at
home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was
bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible
losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly,
those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us
through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to
galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of
our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all
kinds.

Action Plan:
So, here's what we need you to do ...
(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11
people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a
moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those
sentiments guide you.
(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly,
Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then
at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless
America !!!

These types of chain mail make me sick to my stomach. There should be no priority as to when to or not to have a flag raised. Every day you live in this country should be reason enough. People die every day defending and upholding this country. Just because someone hit some buildings and killed some people doesn't make this day any more important than any other day when any other person is killed or dies defending this country and its people, be it from foreign or domestic causes. Either hold your head high and stand tall with every other person that has no problems showing their support for their country every day, or hang your head in shame for thinking ACTING patriotic 1 day of the year is just as good.

I feel the heat from the flames already, but its the truth people.

(I hate chain letters!!) No heat from me brother and very well stated. True patriots do not need a reminder and especially in the form of a chain letter. However...since we are forced to deal with them I'd rather see this message than some of the others I've come across!

I could not have said it better myself, true patriotism comes from within, not from dates set aside to remind us of truly tragic events. Don't get me wrong, I feel that Patriots Day was an awesome way to memorialize the tragic events of 9/11, but shouldn't every day be patriots day. Like Shane said, people die every day fighting for justice and freedom both here and abroad. Let your flag wave high and proud every day of the year, and bring it to half mast on those special days that are memorializing the loss of those who died for freedom. That way you can show your true patriotism every day and still remember the days that we lost so much needlessly...
