Frances D. Taubert, 93, of Coudersport, PA

Frances D. Taubert, 93, of Coudersport, PA died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.

Born on December 8, 1916 in Coudersport, she was the daughter of James V. and Catherine Golden DiPietro. On January 20, 1946 in Harrisburg, PA she married James G. “Bud” Taubert, who died on March 18, 1987.

Mrs. Taubert was a lifelong resident of Coudersport. She was a 1934 graduate of Coudersport High School and later graduated from the Westbrook Academy in Olean, NY. Following graduation she began working for the State government in Harrisburg until 1943. She then moved back to Coudersport and worked in the Potter County Commissioner’s office until 1956. She later became chief clerk with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, retiring in 1968.

Mrs. Taubert was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Eulalia Chapter #148 Order of Eastern Star, and the Coudersport Office Girls. In her early years she was an avid golfer and bowler.

Surviving are her son, J. Craig Taubert and his wife, Marjorie, of Roulette, PA, five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a sister, Katherine McClurkin and her husband, Michael, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, two brothers, Louis DiPietro and Frank DiPietro, and a sister, Rose DiPietro.

There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Coudersport at a later date and will be announced by the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3 Borie Street, Coudersport, PA 16915, or to a charity of one’s choice.
