Man Doesn't Know Who He Is Or Where He's From

Cops need help learning man's identity
* Posted by: Eli George

PORTVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police need help identifying a man who they say can't remember who he is or where he came from.

He's approximately 45-50-years-old and may be from Pennsylvania. The man is 5'9", has blue eyes, brown hair with some grey, a grey beard, and is slightly balding. He weighs approximately 175 pounds and has scars, possibly from surgery, on the front and top of his right shoulder.

Police say residents from Emporium, PA, 60 miles away from Portville, saw the man around their area for three days, knocking on doors and asking for water. They did not report the man because he did not seem dangerous. Portville Police have tried using fingerprints, but the man does not appear to be in any databases.

If anyone has any information about this man, his identity, or where he is from, please contact the Portville Police Department at 716-933-8773. More...

Sounds like a promo for that dumb NBC series "The Event".

It must be very hard on him and his family not knowing who or whom he is related to.

Why do people have to be such idiots on here? This website is an awesome place for someone to be seen by family members whom might be worried sick about their lost son/father. Grow the heck up.

Everyone lighten up said...

The second poster is the one who needs to grow up, i get a kick out of your type. The second you read a smart comment you attack them. People need to lighten up, this blog is not NBC news or something like it, it is a blog where you can say what you want.

k this isnt cool, I just called portville PD with a tip... Randy Nichols just went missing from Elmira heights NY... though the clothes dont match the aprox dates are similar...any way.. the lady told me they were busy in dispatch and they would have to call me back later... so I am going to leave my tip here just in case its important.

this is so sad. Thoughts and prayers going out...Thanks to all involved in helping this guy

what's not cool about that 2:30?! You're tip comes second to emergency calls and why wouldn't it? You'll get a call back after emergency calls are handled.

If only we were all as important as you?!

Poster 3:17..you are definitely NOT COOL. If a person has a tip about this man, they should have taken the info as soon as they called. If this Randy guy is missing then they should check it out right away. i would consider that an emergency to try and find this guy. Any info that comes in should be considered..not "Oh I'll call you back" This guy could be very sick...Thats an emergency you twit. Glad you don't have anything to do with the dispatcher stuff. You wouldn't think anything would be an emergency. Stay off of here or find some compassion for people.

this last post was directed to 3:17 not 3:13. sorry I made that error. 3:13 you have a big heart.

I sure hope that this man can reconnect with his family. I also hope that if his family is looking on this site and stumbles across this article and picture of him that they do not read the inconsiderate comments being left at an unnecessary time.

@5:06
The inconsiderate part is all the bickering between posters. I kinda feel bad for the guy though.

Just heard that the man was identified as Eugene King of Johnsonburg... his brother is picking him up at the hospital tomorrow. Glad the mystery is solved.

Dear Captain Spalding,

What emergency?? The guy was in safe hands, being cared for, they are holding him until they find his family, ect? Do you know how many dispatchers work calls for Portville? Not enough to take that kind of info while there is a afternoon full of calls that need someone to respond immediately!! How many open phone lines do they have? How many calls did they have in progress?

That's what kills me!! You don't know!!! But they should have stopped, dropped, and rolled so that 2:30 could give a "tip."

Those dispatchers were talking to Police, EMS, Fire police and a handful of others that were out working incidents.

FYI: Looks like I do know a little about that "dispatcher stuff!" I use compassion everyday and I have NONE for people who don't have a clue!! Looks like that's you!

usually that's what dispatchers do for calls that aren't priority and other calls are coming in that require immediate help, they call you back.

not to be a smart ass in any way but somedays I wish I could just forget who I am and aimlessly walk around lost, sometimes I have so much junk going on in my head it might give me time to file or sort the mayhem.. days there is wind in the sails others its a calm day then the next day it seams a train wrecked in my head, Im not sure if Im comeing or going, but I do know one thing I always make it to work. but somedays I think thats what puts all this shit in my head. love you all at Morgan AM$T

Glenn,

I think you missed a part to the story, this guys isn't missing, they have him. It's not an emergency, just saying.

2:30 comes acrossed with a little "attitude" as if she was blown off and her info isn't important, but they are trained to prioritize these things.

Actually I think they have seperate non-emergency lines to call back on in situations like that.
