No Injuries In Crash South Of Port Allegany Wednesday

Four Port Allegany residents were uninjured Wednesday at noon when their cars collided on Route 155 south of Port Allegany.

Kane troopers said Karen L. Thompson, 54, was driving a 1999 Dodge Dakota southbound on Rt. 155.

Kelly L. Lathrop, 31, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound behind the Dakota.

Lathrop attempted to pass Thompson in a legal passing zone as Thompson attempted to make a left turn, impacting Lathrop's Cherokee in the northbound lane. After impact, the Cherokee impacted a fence, while the Dakota came to rest off the roadway.

Neither the drivers nor Lathrop's passengers, Shane E. Lathrop, 38, and a 4 year old male child, were injured. Everyone was wearing seat belts or safety seats.

Thompson was cited for failure to use turn signal. Port Allegany Fire Dept. and EMS assisted troopers at the scene. McKiernan's Garage was called for towing.
