Mary M. Burris, 84, of Duke Center , PA

DUKE CENTER, PA - Mary M. Burris, 84, of Duke Center died Wednesday (Oct. 20, 2010) at Olean (NY) General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born Nov. 27, 1925, in Mahaffey, she was a daughter of George Raymond and Cora Hadden Yose.

Mary attended Otto Township schools and had resided in Berlin Heights, OH, for 25 years before moving to RIxford, then to Duke Center, where she had lived since 1977.

She was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a clerk typist.
Mary had been employed as a supervisor in the print shop of Futures in Bradford and later was employed by the Allegheny National Forest as a tourist representative and at the ranger station in Marshburg. In addition, she worked many years for Servo Corp. of Bradford.

She was a member of St. Raphael's Church in Eldred and its Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and cooking. She was still riding roller coasters at Cedar Point when she was in her 70s.

Surviving are three sons, George Allen (Nancy) Burris of Rixford, Carl (Vicky) Burris of Ormsby and Raymond (Kay) Burris of Meadville; five grandchildren, Timothy Burris, Cara Zeigler, Meggan Hidalgo, Amanda Muckinhaupt and Justine Burris; three great-grandchildren, Kamden Hidalgo, Airianna and Alexis Muckinhaupt; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Cleston Hahn; and two sisters, Bernice Nace and Anna Mae Yose.

Friends may call at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, on Saturday (Oct. 23, 2010) from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael's Church, Eldred, with Father Chris M. Hamlet as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sartwell.

The family requests memorials be made to the Otto Ambulance Fund or the American Cancer Society.
