Mr. Edmond Keith "Ed" Dickerson, 85, Denton, NC

DENTON, NC- Mr. Edmond Keith "Ed" Dickerson, 85, of Highway 49 South died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 2010) at his residence in Denton.

Born Aug. 22, 1925, in Bradford, Pa., he was a son of Harold and Edith Ledue Dickerson.

Mr. Dickerson had worked as a welder at CE Air in Wellsville, N.Y., and was an avid hunter and legendary trapper.

In addition to his wife, Nancy Dixon Dickerson, he is survived by four sons, Lyle Dickerson of Olean, N.Y., Kenneth Dickerson, of Ohio, Clarence Dickerson of Shinglehouse, Pa., and Christopher Dickerson of Denton; four daughters, Bonnie Allen of Fairfield, Ohio, Kathleen Dower of Port Allegany, Pa., Nancy Thomas of Eldred, Pa., and Crystal Dickerson of Denton; three brothers, William Dickerson, Orin Dickerson and Tommy Dickerson, all of Millport, Pa.; a sister, Betty Linza of Belmont, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (Oct. 1, 2010) at the Briggs Funeral Home, Denton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 2, 2010) at Briggs Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Terri Cook will officiate. Burial will follow in Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family.
