Crosby Teen Airlifted After Crash Tuesday Night

A Crosby teenager was flown to Altoona Hospital by Stat Medivac with unknown injuries early Wednesday morning after crashing her car on Rt. 46 in Shippen Township, Cameron County Tuesday at 11:15 pm.

Ashley M. Kaziska, 19, of Crosby, PA, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on Route 46 and for unknown reasons traveled off the left side of the roadway.

Her car then struck an embankment, became airborne, impacted a tree, struck the embankment a second time prior to striking another tree and coming to rest partially in the roadway.

Kaziska was attended by EMS from Emporium and transported to a landing zone at the school field where she was flown to Altoona General Hospital by helicopter. State police characterized her injuries as moderate. She was wearing a seat belt.

Emporium Fire Company 14 located the crash scene about 3 miles north of Rich Valley Road. They assisted Emporium Ambulance personnel and State Police at the scene.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Ramsey's Garage.

State Police said the investigation is continuing.
