Jane Margaret Staley of Kansas Branch Road, Duke Center, PA

DUKE CENTER, PA - Jane Margaret Staley of Kansas Branch Road passed away Sunday (Nov. 7, 2010) at Meadow Glen in Leesburg, VA.

Born Sept. 25, 1915, in Olean, she was a daughter of the late Edward Hannon and Margaret Hassett. On Feb. 24, 1941, in Olean, NY, she married Thomas Franklin Staley who passed away March 13, 1991.

She was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1933, and attended Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean. She was employed at Hamlin Bank in Eldred, PA, for many years as a teller.
Jane was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean; was a volunteer at the voting polls; and was a member of the Duke Center Garden Club, where she served as president from 1968 to 1970. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.

Surviving are a sister, Ann H. Appleby of Vienna, VA, and she was a loving aunt to her 10 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Hannon and Tom Hannon.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.

Funeral services will be held Monday (Nov. 22, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Father Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.

A Scripture wake service will be held Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church, 202 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760.
