Louis S. Macica, 90, of Galeton, PA

Louis S. Macica, 90, of Galeton, PA, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010 at Charles Cole Hospital, Coudersport, PA.

Born June 28, 1920 in New York, he was a son of the late Steven and Theresa Macica. Louis was a Veteran having served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during WWII, serving under General Patton.

On August 10, 1991, in Galeton, he married the former Shirley Falk, who survives.

Louis was a general diamatice (submarine builder) in Connecticut, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Galeton VFW and the American Legion. Louis enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Surviving besides his wife, Shirley Macica, are, two sons, Stephen Macica, Arizona and Russell Macica; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-sons, James (Sherry) Kohler, Corning, NY and Terry (Ella) Kohler, Staten Island, NY; three brothers, Joseph, Andrew, and Michael Macica; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at St. Bibiana’s Catholic Church, Galeton, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 10:00-11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty as Celebrant. Military Honors will be accorded by the Potter County Honor Guard. Internment will be made in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Galeton VFW.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton.
