Nursing Home Worker Hit Resident In Groin

Nursing Home Resident Assaulted

A Bradford man accused of assaulting a nursing home resident has waived his preliminary hearing.

18-year-old Robert Work is accused of hitting a resident in the groin several times while he and another worker were getting the man ready for bed, according to papers filed in District Judge Dominic Cercone’s office.

The nursing home resident can’t talk but the other worker told police the man was groaning with pain and making faces indicating severe pain.

Work is free on unsecured bail.

Well suprised there is no comments as of yet, I am shocked that this man is "free on unsecured bail" how is that he just walks after assaulting someone that in no way can defend themselves. This is just so sick not to mention sad...

I'm glad that the other worker told the police about this jackass. "Unsecured Bail" this makes me sick.

i am totally outraged that this has happened. you can rest assured that if it was my family member, you had best run for the hills, how could anyone do such a thing to anyone, i think the nurseing home should screen there applicants a little better, please make sure he never works around old people or young children ever again, i am sick to my stomach over this. what goes around comes around, remember that........

Yes Im sure it will be found that well he was just to young to be working at such a place and he just lost his cool but with an anger managment class (that he will probably never take) he will be just fine.. Just ridiculous if you ask me, he needs the same thing done to him and worse how someone could do such a thing is beyond me.

Unsecured bail...what the heck does that mean. He should have been sent directly to jail. I hope the relatives of this resident sue this young man ...what a travesty...this kind of thing has NO place anywhere, but esp. NOT in a nursing home where residents are supposed to feel safe...The whole thing just makes me sick.....

He's 18 years old & acting like this? What does he have in his future? Free on Unsecured bail! This is WRONG !!!!!! Let's see what the system does for/to him!
It will be a joke!

This is disgusting someone should tie him down and kick him in the groin a million times and see how he likes it and to top it off he is out running the streets.

Don't suppose any of you has ever heard of innocent until proven guilty. Everyone is always ready to drop the hammer on a person accused of a crime without even knowing the evidence. I agree that this is a sick kid if he is indeed guilty but you can't just ASSSUME he's guilty because you read a news article with the word "accused" in it. This isn't just indicative of people around here but all over the world when accusations are leveled. I hope none of you are ever called for jury duty, no innocent person would stand a chance.

*would never*

Well the person was hurt, someone had seen this person do this. Its a pretty good sign that he is guilty and if he isnt then whoever hurt this poor man should pay for it. It is ridiculous that we take our family members to facilities that are there to care for them and make them comfortable and then someone whoever it may be comes along and has to abuse them for whatever reason. I say whatever ready because there is no reason for actions such as these.

I just feel personally that whoever commited this crime to this man needs to be held accountable for it. Its just WRONG....

I think that Tommy J. makes a good point! Let's put away the rope and pitch forks and let the "ACCUSED" be found guilty before we tie him to a tree.

When and if he is found to be guilty, I hope the Court throws the book at him!

5.23 you tell me a nursing home that does not do background checks.i agree
he should not have hit him.but did the guy do something to provoke him.
i for one used to work in 3 homes
and have been slapped; bit scratched
and even had to buy new glasses because i could not prove i was hit
some of these people get quit ornery
if they do not want to get out of bed
in the morning. there is not a home around that does not do background checks.it is required

Maybe he just snapped.
Have you looked at the economy lately, the elections, etc.
