Partners in Philanthropy 2010 Award Winners Announced by The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers

Partners in Philanthropy 2010 Award Winners Announced by
The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) Board of Directors in 2010 announced the winner of their Partners in Philanthropy Award that recognizes and honors practicing professional advisors who have worked to further philanthropy in our communities. These advisors have helped the foundation grow by introducing clients to the foundation who established new funds at the CFTT.

The CFTT proudly announces the 2020 winner of this award Attorney Mark Dixson of Owego, NY.

Attorney Dixson was given this award for the establishment of the Floyd Hooker Estate Foundation Fund. The funds from this estate will benefit the children of Tioga County as was stipulated in the will of Mr. Floyd Hooker.

The executor of the estate, attorney Mark Dixson, chose the CFTT as the vehicle for administering these funds which will be coming from the NYS Lottery. He will be working with an advisory committee he has set up to assist him in his work of recommending worthy recipients of these grant funds and seeing that the purpose of these funds is adhered to.

Attorney Dixson has been a practicing attorney in Owego, NY for more than twenty years and has recently served as attorney for the Tioga County. He is presently a Director on the Tioga State Bank Board of Directors and has served as the attorney for the Tioga County IDA. He is an avid runner and serves as the cross country coach for Candor High School. He resides in Owego, NY with his wife, Marie.

The winners of the Partners in Philanthropy Award have their name inscribed on a permanent wall plaque mounted in the CFTT office. In addition each recipient received a desk clock with an inscribed plaque for use in their business.
Bill Ransom, Board Chair, stated, “It is significant that through the work of the Tioga County Advisory Board this professional advisor was made aware of the work of the CFTT. They are to be applauded for their efforts on behalf of the CFTT.”

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is a non-profit public foundation established in 2002 by a diverse group of local leaders and residents. The Foundation encourages community philanthropy to enhance the quality of life for those who reside in Bradford, Potter, Sullivan and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York State. It establishes endowment funds for charitable purposes from contributions of citizens, corporations, other foundations, charitable organizations and government agencies. As the endowment funds grow, it uses the interest earned on these funds to make grants to organizations or projects that serve identified community needs.
