Ulysses Woman faces hearing

Ulysses Woman faces hearing

Daily Review

Rachel Lynn Thompson, 18, of Ulysses, Pa., faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Dec. 22 before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox on charges of unsworn falsification to authorities and false reports to law enforcement authorities for an incident Aug. 14 on Route 6 near Route 187 in Wysox Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Thompson knowingly gave false information to a law enforcement officer with the intent to implicate Allen John Preston, no age or address given, by alleging and providing a signed written statement that Preston choked her while she was operating a vehicle on the highway.

Does every young offender need to have their names splashed all over the papers thus further destroying their lives? I find it unsuitable.

she's 18, so although she is young she's an adult.

maybe she shouldn't be in so much trouble this is not the first time her name has been in the papers or on the internet. maybe the splashing of her name will teach her a lesson.

Im sure 6:30 you have never made a wrong decision or choice in your life as a child or young adult...the only difference is when you were younger it wasn't posted on the internet 5 minutes after it happened..don't forget you probably have had or still have skeletons in your closet. Another thing how would splashing her name all over the place teach her a lesson? As far as I'm concerned you learn from your mistakes....true?

Trisha couldn't agree any more but I'm sure people like you pass judgment on situations which u don't know the facts. So this could be Karma. As people like you have judged people like me for things you have no clue about, and just base your judgment on town gossip. I think its sad that anyone regardless of who it is or how old they are makes a bad decision and then its posted all over, then people get to run their mouths about something they don't know the facts about.. again can you say Karma

I'm from elsewhere where things are not printed all over the papers like they are here. Known many kids with large and small mistakes and no press coverage. Parents intervention and the problem is outgrown with love. I hate this horrid publicity to young people. When I was 18 I was not legally an adult as yet. Back then it was 21 and that was much more reasonable. These are small problems...leave these kids alone....should never have been in print. I pray for the family.

Amen 7:35. Printing the mistakes of these young people only compounds the problem. No good comes of it. People only see what is printed here and in the papers and form judgements based on that. They do not see the whole story. 18 is just out of high school and there is a lot of growing up yet to do. It isn't a magic number that all of a sudden makes you an adult.

I agree why label them. They are young and people make mistakes. This leaves room for those who forget they aren't perfect to pass judgment and start unnecessary trouble... the victims and their families are going through enough... needs to stop for the families sake

3:27 I must talk about you because your a complete retard because this had nothing to to with me and what I've said to you or about you. I'm simply stating a fact. Don't be a coward and post your name next time.
