CFTT Awards Head Start Grant In Sullivan County

Sullivan County Head Start Awarded Grant

At the recommendation of the Sullivan County Advisory Board the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) Board of Directors awarded a grant to the Columbia Child Development Program for the Sullivan County Head Start Program to help with the purchase of play equipment for the head start program. The CFTT through their Sullivan County Advisory Board solicited proposals from non-profits organizations in Sullivan County for addressing the needs of the county.

Some of the equipment purchased included a balance circle. The photo shows children from the Thursday-Friday Head Start group making good use of the balance circle. The ring they are sitting in was purchased with their grant funds and can be used both for inside and outside play.

The Sullivan County Advisory Board is once again soliciting proposals for their next round of grant funds and invites non-profits serving Sullivan County to apply.

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is a non-profit public foundation established in 2002 by a diverse group of local leaders and residents. The Foundation encourages community philanthropy to enhance the quality of life for those who reside in Bradford, Potter, Sullivan and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York State.

The CFTT helps caring citizens, corporations, other foundations, charitable organizations and government agencies who want to give back to their community establish endowment funds for the charitable purposes they care about. As the endowment funds grow in value, the CFTT uses the interest earned on these funds to make grants to organizations or projects that serve the identified community needs.

If you have an interest in learning more about the CFTT or in establishing a fund, you can contact the organization by any of these methods: telephone - 570-888-4759; fax - 570-888-2179; email - cftt@stny.rr.com ; or visit the website - www.twintierscf.org .

CFTT is dedicated to making a difference locally “for good – for ever”
