Huge Holiday Sale At CVFD Training Center December 18 & 19, 2010

On Saturday Dec 18 from 9 am to 8 pm, and Sunday Dec 19 from noon until 6 pm the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting an eBay sale.

A local eBay seller will be loading up the modulars at the fire station with Lenox China, Spode China, Martha Stewart items, DeLonghi appliances, Pflatzgraff Kitchenware, Tools of the Trade items, and way too many more retail items to list here.

A portion of the proceeds from each sale will benefit the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department.

Light refreshments will be available.

Prices are at a FRACTION of the suggested retail price. Our eBay seller receives goods from Macy's, so EVERYTHING is of high quality and is new. All sales can be made by cash or check.

I prefer to shop at local merchants when I can. I support and salute the CVFD but when you let a seller come in and undercut the local businesses that have been struggling so much in recent years, it is not a good thing. By the way this week I priced two items at Walmart and priced the same things at Wagner Ace in Coudersport. One item was less expensive at Wagner Ace and the second was just two cents higher at Wagner Ace. Christmas shoppers, at least give the local merchants a chance before you run off and invest your money in Olean. We are all in this together! Merry Christmas to all and may God bless Potter County in 2011 and beyond!!!

To the 1:31pm Poster. If you read the article, the seller is a local person who does business on e-bay. The seller lives in the area and supports the area businesses, just as everone else does who shops locally. Not only will you be supporting a "local merchant" but also the fire department.

I don't want to misspeak but I don't believe you can find those things in Coudersport: Martha Stewart, Spode, Pfaltzgraff, Lenox?

It is possible that people could save enough money here to spend someplace else locally? just sayin

I like what 1:31 said to support local businesses. I always check locally for items I need before running off to another town (or another state with 8 percent sales tax) to buy it. Is this Ebay person taking advantage of the good name of CVFD to make a profit or is this a public-minded person helping out CVFD by volunteering to manage the sale? I do not know much about Ebay.
