Route 6 Bridge at Sylvania traffic patterns return to normal Dec. 23

Route 6 Bridge at Sylvania traffic patterns return to normal Dec. 23

Traffic patterns at the Route 6 Bridge over Sugar Creek in Sylvania, Bradford
County, are scheduled to return to normal by the end of the day tomorrow, Thursday.

During the bridge rehabilitation project, traffic has been restricted to a
single lane through the work zone, directed by temporary traffic signals.

Two-way traffic will be restored and the signals will be taken out of service tomorrow.

The Porter Road intersection with Route 6 (currently detoured) will be reopened
tomorrow, as well.

The Route 6 Bridge at Sylvania is one of three bridges rehabilitated by contractor
L. C. Whitford Co. as part of a $1,993,087 contract funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

All three bridges got new decks and parapets, new guiderail and reconstructed
roadway approaches.

Within the nine-county north central region, PennDOT is investing $45 million
of federal economic recovery funds on transportation projects that range from
resurfacings and bridge replacements to guide rail and traffic sign upgrades.
