Wanda A. Hurd Haught, 84, of 2295 East Notch Road, Richburg, NY

RICHBURG, NY - Wanda A. Hurd Haught, 84, of 2295 East Notch Road passed away Friday, (Dec. 24, 2010) at the Wellsville Manor Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 3, 1926, in the town of Wirt, she was a daughter of Miles and Leapha Peterson Hurd. In 1942, she married Robert Haught, who predeceased her.

Mrs. Haught attended Richburg Central School and obtained her GED at a later date. She was a demonstrator for Stanley Home Products and was employed by Bolivar Central School in the cafeteria for many years, retiring in 1990.

She was a longtime member and past treasurer of the Richburg First Day Baptist Church and was an AWANA leader. She enjoyed going to Lime Lake with family and friends, was a member of the Kenyon Andrus American Legion Post 772 Auxiliary of Bolivar for over 50 years and a member of the Bolivar Fire Department Auxiliary, TOPS of Richburg and the Richburg-Wirt Historical Society.

Surviving are three children, Rebecca (Don) Cady of Cadytown, Dennis (Sue) Haught of Portville and Steven (Bob Stoner) Haught of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Robert (Carolyn) Cady, Raymond (Kristen) Cady, Pam (Greg Colombo) Scott, Beth (Joel) Mullen, Jennifer (David) Casasanta, Jacob (Shayla) Haught, Leah Haught and Sarah Haught;15 great-grandchildren, Benjamin (Bridie), Brandon, Bradley, Scott, Elias Alaric and Ian Cady, Emily, Alice and James Cady, Kory, Kelsea and Konner Shick, Justyce Mulle, Alyssa Abdo and Chance Mullen; Three sisters-in-law, Leota Hurd, Esther Hurd and Stella Wood; two brothers-in-law, Edwin Mitchell and Kenneth Stebbins; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Thomas, Isobel, James, Elisabeth, Oliver, Max, Celia and Janet.

Mrs. Haught donated her body to the University at Buffalo Medical School for medical research.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Richburg First Day Baptist Church. Burial will be in Richburg Cemetery.
