Burglars Enter 5 Camps & 7 Outbuildings In Keating Township

Camps Burglarized In Keating Township
State Police at Coudersport are investigating a rash of camp burglaries. On Sunday at 1:25 am, troopers found a series of camps located on Bark Shanty Road, 3.2 miles west of Route 872 in Keating Township had been forcefully entered.

Five camps and 7 outbuildings owned by 7 separate victims were entered. The identity of the camp owners is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing.

These burglaries join at least 32 other camp burglaries in Elk, Cameron, southern McKean and now southern Potter County. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in the area of seasonal residences or camps to State Police.

You can reach them at Coudersport--814-274-8690; Kane--814-778-5555; Emporium--814-486-3321; and Ridgway--814-776-6136.

This is getting rediculous. These people need to grow up and realize what they are putting people through. What if this happened to them? They sure wouldn't like that! I think seasonal residence should invest in trail cameras or servelance of some sort to catch these people.

seems like someone who knows where "camps" are located....wonder if they've looked @ tax collector positions or other persons that would have access to that info... This certainly isn't helping the area's cause to market itself.
