Jonathan J. "Jon" Orner, 27, of 256 Arch Dr., Emporium died at his residence Wednesday evening.

He was born October 1, 1983 in St. Marys a son of Russell and Dionne Curtis Orner, Sr. of Emporium

Jon graduated from Cameron County High School.

He was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church. He loved baseball and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 PM

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium on Monday (January 17, 2011) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.

This is a sad story. this poor man had several demons he was battling. It is a shame the demons won. He was a very kind man. He will be sadly missed by many. He was a good friend son brother and uncle. I hope Jon is a peace now. RIP Bud you are greatly missed :(

I knew the Orner Family fairly well when I lived in Emporium. Had met Jamie on a few occasions, hung out with Jer and Jon and grew up with their sister Jodi and of course would see and talk to their mother, semi regularly, who worked at sheetz for years.

At 27 he really didn't have much of a life. I know he struggled with addiction to many things, as I also have.

He was always kind and good hearted. His passing only shows we are all susceptible to time and circumstances. But as they say, only the good die young.
