McKean County Raceway To Host Speedweek Event June 30th

FASTRAK Northeast announces inaugural Speedweek

by Mike Leone

PULASKI, Pa. -- The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series is thrilled to announce an exciting additional aspect to the 2011 slate. The inaugural Bully Dog 'Cross the Borders' Speedweek presented by Contingency Connection is expected to feature five events primarily in the northern part of the region over the Independence Day Weekend. A separate point fund will be established with $5,000 in cash and contingencies up for grabs thanks to Bully Dog.

'Each year we have racers and tracks talk about a Speedweek for FASTRAK,' explained fifth year Northeast co-Director Vicki Emig. 'With the growth in the northern part of our region this year and Bully Dog stepping up to provide us with an additional point fund, we felt the timing was right. We chose the fourth of July weekend when car counts are very strong, the weather is more cooperative and summer is just getting into full force with the holiday weekend.'

Four of the events have been secured with Thursday, June 30 at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pa., Friday, July 1 at Raceway 7 near Conneaut, Ohio, Saturday, July 2 at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa., and Sunday, July 3 at Eriez Speedway just outside of Erie, Pa. in Hammett. It's hopeful that the Wednesday, June 29 event will be the kickoff to the Bully Dog Speedweek as part of the traditional Trumbull County Fair race at Expo Speedway. More...

would rather watch the Super Late Models, Fastrack are crate motors and it's usually follow the leader, not a whole lot of passing like the Supers!!!!!
