Wagner To Speak At Pitt-Bradford Monday


BRADFORD, Pa. – William J. Wagner, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Northwest Savings Bank, will speak as part of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s Executive Speaker Series Monday, Jan. 10.

Wagner will speak from 11 a.m. to noon in the Mukaiyama University Room of the Frame-Westerberg Commons. The event is free and open to the public. A time for coffee and networking will be held at 10:30 a.m. No reservations are necessary.

In 1980, he joined Fidelity Savings Association in Pittsburgh as its vice president of finance and chief financial officer. In 1985, he moved to Northwest Bancshares Inc. and Northwest Savings Bank in Warren, where he was chief financial officer and chief operating officer before being appointed president and chief executive officer in 1998. In 2003, he was made chairman also.

In addition to his duties with the bank, Wagner is an active civic leader, serving as a past council president of the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He’s also a member of the board of directors of the Warren Chamber of Business and Industry, a member and past president of several chapters of Rotary International, and a past board member of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers.

He is also a member of the Advisory Board at Pitt-Bradford.

Wagner and his wife, Amy, have been married for 29 years and have two children. He enjoys hunting, fly fishing, golf and reading.
