Gladys H. Crandall, 88, formerly of 34 Chamberlain Ave., Bradford, PA

Gladys H. Crandall, 88, formerly of 34 Chamberlain Ave., passed away, Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 at Chapel Ridge.

Born December 10, 1922, in Bradford she was the daughter of the late Harold R. and Margaret (Kenyon) Hanson.

On January 30, 1941 in Emporium she married Fred A. Crandall who died on August 17, 2000.

Mrs. Crandall was a 1941 graduate of Bradford High School. She had worked at the Sylvania Plant during WW II, the Foster Township Taste Freeze and then for the Bradford Area School District in the cafeteria at Floyd C. Fretz Jr. High School retiring in 1988. She was a member of the East End Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two children a daughter, Bonnie (Gerald) Conklin of Bradford and a son, David (Sharon) Crandall of Coudersport, a brother, Harold Hanson, Jr. of Jamestown, NY, one grandchild David Frederic (Jenny) Crandall, three great grandchildren Austin, Travis and Ethan Crandall and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.


Family will be receiving friends on Friday, February 11th, 2011 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held 11:00am on Saturday, February 12th, Rev. Max Miller, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
