Anna N. Valenti, 100, of Smethport, formerly of Spangler (Northern Cambria)

Smethport - Anna N. Valenti, 100, of Smethport, formerly of Spangler (Northern Cambria), died Thursday (March 24, 2011) in the Lakeview Senior Care & Living Ctr., Smethport.

She was born Oct 31, 1910 in Spangler, a daughter of Pompey and Christine Angellotto. On May 6, 1934, in Spangler, PA, she married Joseph V. Valenti, who died February 5, 1982.

Mrs. Valenti was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Spangler for many years until she moved to Smethport to be with her family. She then became a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Smethport.

She said the Rosary daily, enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and television game shows.

She is survived by
one son: Anthony (Bernadine) Valenti of Smethport, PA
two daughters: Ann (Walter) Simpson of Warren, PA, Christina (Andrew) Hecker of Orlando, FL
11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Dominic, Michael, Rocco, Anthony, Joseph, and Justinian; and two sisters: Agnes DiAngelo and Mary Scalise.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, from 6-8 PM, at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday, March 28, at 10:00 am from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Northern Cambria, PA. A Christian Wake service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM Sunday.

The family requests memorials made to St. Elizabeth Parish Development Fund, St. Elizabeth Organ fund, or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences can be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
