Joseph J. Tanesky, 72, of 737 Summit Rd.,Bradford, PA

Joseph J. Tanesky, 72, of 737 Summit Rd., passed away , Friday, March 4th, 2011 at his residence.

Born February 4, 1939, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Anthony and Bertha (Elrod) Tanesky.

On November 14, 1967, in Bradford he married Nancy (Hanson-Dusch) Tanesky who survives.

Mr. Tanesky was a 1957 graduate of Bradford High School. On March 5, 1962 he enlisted in the United States Army, served during Vietnam and was honorably discharged on March 4, 1964. He had been employed for Pennzoil for many years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Joanne (Richard) Hedlund of Bradford, Judy (the late Mark) Blanchard of Bradford, and Kathy (Robert) Willover of Portville, three sons, Robert (Peggy) Dusch of NC, Terry (Jackie) Dusch of Bradford, and William (Ellen) Hanson of Clearlake IA, two sisters, Betty Ciccarelli of Lancaster, and Katheryn Harman of FL., 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, Josephine Umbaugh and four brothers, Robert, Francis, Keith and Kenneth Tanesky.


Family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 7, 2011, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Ave. where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 8th with Rev. Leon Canfield pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Military Honors and burial will be on Wednesday, March 9th, at 1:00pm in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
