PennDOT posting 13 more roads in Tioga County

PennDOT advises motorists in Tioga County that 13 more roads will soon be posted with permanent, year-round, 10-ton weight restrictions.

The following state highways will get the weight restrictions along the sections noted:

State Route 1008 (Ashley Hill Road) in Richmond Township, from Route 549 to the Sullivan Township line;

State Route 1015 (Station Road) in Lawrence Township, from Buckwheat Hollow Road to the New York state line;

State Route 1028 (Buckwheat Hollow Road) in Jackson Township, the remaining section from Woodford Road to the New York state line;

State Route 1030 (Cowanesque Street, Mann Hill Road) in Tioga Township and Tioga Borough, from Oak Lane Road to Route 287;

State Route 2004 (Roaring Branch Road) in Union Township, from the Lycoming County line to Route 14;

State Route 2012 (Mae Case Road) in Union Township, from West Union Street to the Bradford County line;

State Route 3002 (Watrous Street) in Gaines Township, from Elk Run Road to Route 6;

State Route 3003 (Phoenix Road) in Gaines Township, from Route 6 to the Potter County line;

State Route 3011 (Shumway Hill Road) in Charleston Township, the remaining quarter-mile section immediately south of Route 6;

State Route 3013 (Plank Road) in Morris Township, from Nauvoo Road to the township section of Plank Road;

State Route 3021 (Greenwood Street) in Wellsboro, from Balsam Road at the borough line to Route 660;

State Route 4001 (Wattles Run Road) in Clymer Township, from Route 349 to Butler Road;

State Route 4001 (Potter Brook Road) in Westfield Township, from Potter Brook Spur Road to Route 49;

State Route 4019 (Holden Street, Camp Brook Road) in Osceola Township, from Holden Brook Road to the New York state line.

The postings are being made on the basis of traffic and engineering studies indicating that these highways may be damaged by the use of vehicles that exceed the restriction.

School buses and local-delivery trucks are exempted from the postings.

The postings will take effect as soon as the required signing is erected. A PennDOT maintenance crew will begin placing the road posting signs on April 7.
