Ruth M. Zimmerman, 83, Of Bradford, PA

Ruth M. Zimmerman, 83, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Riley Road Apartments, formerly of 293 Derrick Road, passed away Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 at Bradford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 16, 1927, in Ridgway, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Rita (McNutt) Mader.

On January 28, 1950 in Greenville she married Howard L. Zimmerman, Jr., who died on July 26, 1988.

She was a 1945 graduate of Ridgway High School.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Dorcas and Mary-Martha Group.

She worked as a secretary for the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary and did volunteer work for numerous activities at her church and in the community.

She is survived by a daughter, Kriss (Carl) Edwards of Limestone, a son, Lee (Jody) Zimmerman, of Bradford, 12 grandchildren; Kristina Zimmerman of Pittsburgh, Nicholas Zimmerman of Bradford, Sara Berlin of Salamanca, William (Amy) Patterson of Bradford, Mary (Rusty) Moore of Chandler, NC, Jeffrey (Elizabeth Brown) Patterson of Asheville, NC, Linda (Randall Combs of Sharps Chapel, TN, Michael (Cheryl) Patterson of TN, Ronald (Alyica) Patterson of Bradford, Martha (Jeff) Barnes of Limestone, Timothy (Rosanne) Patterson, Jr. of Limestone, NY, Robert Patterson of Salamanca, NY, Michael Edwards of Nicholson, GA, Andrew Edwards of Bradford, Christina Edwards of Bradford 24 great grandchildren, two great great granddaughters, one niece and one nephew.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, Jack and Richard Mader.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, March 6, 2011, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main Street, where funeral and committal services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday March 7, 2011 with Rev. Mary Houck, Pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
