Hit & Run Driver Arrested For DUI

Hit & Run In Sweden Valley
Sweden Township Police Department was dispatched to the Sweden Valley Inn Friday for a report of a hit & run involving a green Jeep heading west on Route 6.

Officer notified other law enforcement and Coudersport Borough Police located the vehicle with a matching registration at Mosch's Tavern.

After further investigation, the operator was arrested for DUI and Hit & Run after a blood test determined he was over the legal limit. Charges will be filed in District Court 55-3-01.

OK the cops pick the person up at a tavern then take a blood test? yeah not sure how they plan on making the charges stick on that one but of course the way stuff works around here im sure they will find a way around it

Simple---

If John Doe was seen hitting something somewhere at let's say 4 pm, then is seen at a local establishment at 410pm. So the police take him to the hospital to do a blood test, and his BAC is over the legal limit, a person with even a quarter of a brain would know that they were intoxicated before he arived at the bar!! Do you get it now or does it need to be dumbed down even more???

So good luck to the person that hit something and RAN... getting out of that DUI!!!

And you should thank (who ever you pray to that they didnt hit somebody that you love... oh wait your one of those ppl that will say you dont care...

Let's run this. A person was in a bar. Cops get a blood test. Shows alcohol in his system. Guess he was drinking. Did he drive his car into the bar? A good lawyer will laugh at this. NO ONE SAW HIM DRIVING!!!!

So....who is to say that HE is the one that drove the vehicle if he is inside the tavern? Maybe someone else wass driving him around..unless he was dumb enough to admit he did it all.

While I am not against withholding the names of the charged, I have to agree with poster 8:58 that it seems like special treatment. I have seen cases just like this in the past and they have a fair shot of getting the test thrown out since it won't be accurate.

ok as the first person to comment on this i wasnt sticking up for the drunk driver i was just hoping they would beable to make the charges stick just wasnt sure how they were going to beable to was all Im far from dumb but if they found the person in a bar drinking hours later or even 20 minutes how would they make the charges stick? so now smartass do u have a answer for that? or do i need to dumb that up for u ? any lawyer good or not is going to have the test thrown out and the jerk that did this and could have killed someone is going to get way with it and as a matter a fact i do care thank u very much,

Really I am sure the officer looked into this a little more than most of you think. hes not just going to make an arrest if its not something he thinks is going to stick. maybe the man admitted to drinking and driving or maybe he admitted to not drinking at the new bar yet. None of you but the man and offices there know what really happend so why do some of you seem so sure this is a bad arrest.

He probably could have avoided being chased around by the cops by going back into the restaurant and taking care of it with the owner.
