Ralph P. Campogiani, Sr., 93 of Lehigh Acres, FL, formerly of Bradford, PA

Ralph P. Campogiani, Sr., 93 of Lehigh Acres, FL, formerly of Bradford, passed away on Tuesday April 12, 2011 at the Lehigh Acres Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on January 5, 1918 in Corydon, the son of the late Nazzareno and Lucia Pedacchio Campogiani.

He was a 1936 graduate of the Bradford Area High School.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II; who served in the European Theatre.

He had been employed by A.Z. Greenberg, Dresser Manufacturing, owned and operated the former Campogiani Grocery Store for 25 years and worked at the J.C. Penney store for ten years.

In the 1960’s he managed teams in the Pony League and the Senior Division of the Little League.

He was a member of the LaStella Lodge for 73 years, the Italian Festival Committee; where he volunteered for many years and a 75 year member of the AAA.

He enjoyed playing bocci and cards at the Senior Center in Lehigh Acres; he also enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the Lehigh Sterling House where he lived his last years.

He is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Albert) Cobb, three sons, Ralph (Lorrie) Campogiani, Jr., Dennis (Kaye) Campogiani, all of Lehigh Acres, FL, Steven (Anne) Campogiani, Bradford, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Josephine Pascale Campogiani, his second wife of 11 years, Delia Chelli, five sisters and one grandson, Ralph Campogiani, III.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. where a prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in the St. Bernard Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Gallina as celebrant. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.

Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Members of the LaStella Lodge will call as a group at 7:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions in his memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1128 State St., Suite 301, Erie, PA 16505, The Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
