Thomas G. "Henry" Louser of 3947 West Branch Road, Allegany, NY

ALLEGANY, NY - Thomas G. "Henry" Louser of 3947 West Branch Road died Monday (April 18, 2011) at Olean General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born Sept. 17, 1936, in Olean, he was a son of George and Alice Spindler Louser. On Aug. 22, 1975, in Allegany, he married Joyce Nuthall, who survives.

Mr. Louser was a 1954 graduate of Allegany High School, where he lettered in basketball, and served with the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. He had been employed for several years by Stayer Ready Mix Concrete Co. in Allegany and later was a self-employed logger, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892, was a former member of the Allegany School Sports Boosters Club, served as a former Allegany School Board member and had been a longtime volunteer for Olean General Hospital.
Mr. Louser enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, working on oil leases and gardening. He also enjoyed playing cards and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife are six children, Brian Louser and Thomas (Lori) Louser, both of Shinglehouse, PA, Donald Louser of Eldred, PA, Francie (Glenn) Drake of Shinglehouse, PA, Thomas Frungillo of Olean and Karen (Bob) Frungillo Barton of Allegany; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Putt of Allegany; a brother, Kenneth (Mary) Louser of Allegany; several nieces and nephews; and Bjorn Rentzhog, a former Swedish exchange student whom he loved as part of his family.

Friends were received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. Funeral services were held Wednesday (April 20, 2011) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bonaventure Church. Father Richard Husted, pastor, was the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Olean General Hospital.
