Michael Shane Ayers, 34, of 129 Olean St., Bolivar, NY

BOLIVAR, NY – Michael Shane Ayers, 34, of 129 Olean St. passed away Friday (April 29, 2011) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville after a brief illness.

Born March 9, 1977, in Olean, he was a son of Carol J. Ayers, who survives.

Mr. Ayers was a devoted son, brother and uncle. He loved being around family. He was very active in the community and in the West Clarksville Baptist Church, which he attended.

Prior to his accident, he was employed by Ron Threehouse at the Bowl-O-Var Lanes.

He played football for Bolivar Central School, graduating as a Wolverine football player.

Surviving besides his mother are his sisters, Barbara (Terry) Baker, Kimberly (Ken) Dickerson, Angela Schoenherr and Christina (Paul) Edwards; a brother, Darron (Becky) Ayers; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by an older brother, Gene Ayers; maternal grandmother, Helen Mix; and a nephew, Shaun Chambers.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., Wellsville, where funeral services will be held Thursday (May 5, 2011) at 2 p.m., with the Rev. David Herne officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.

Memorials may be made to Carol Ayers, 129 Olean St., Bolivar, NY 14715 to help defray funeral expenses.
