Speed Display Sign Placed in Ceres Township, McKean County

Speed Display Sign Placed in Ceres Township, McKean County

Clearfield – PennDOT District 2 has placed a radar-controlled speed display sign along Route 44 in Ceres Township, McKean County. The sign will register the speeds of vehicles traveling in the village of Myrtle. The sign was placed at the request of the township supervisors.

The speed display sign will remain on location for about four weeks. After registering the vehicle’s speed, the value is then posted on the lighted section of the sign. Above the speed display is a speed limit sign showing the 55-mile-per-hour posted speed limit for that section of Route 44.

PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.

Also, motorists, be aware. This sign/machine also records all speeds of passing cars. If 1000 cars go past this sign in the month and 60% are found to be "speeding", then the PSP will target this area with speed traps in the near future. Also, the township gets a percentage of these fines.

It is about time....
Seems to be the same motorists every day during the week in a hurry to get home

I've been passed twice this past week. Usually by same vehicles.
4 PM'sh just before Wayne Paving.
You know who you are...little gold car that turns up Kings Run every day around that time. You had to have been doing at least 75 miles an hour last Wed or Thurs. Must have been an emergency again at home I'm sure to risk the lives of not only yourself, but others.

I hope that police will patrol that stretch of road more often now. Between the 3:30-4:30 PM time slot seems to be the worse.
Well, from what I see.
