Corbett Signs Bill To Rob 3 % From Elderly Property Tax Relief

Older Adults Robbed In Bill Signed Today

Editor note: Buried in the body of a news release today is a new bill signed into law today by Governor Corbett that robs 3% from the Lottery account that provides property tax relief and reduced-fare transit service for older adults. This is just one of the shell games of robbing Peter to pay Paul to give the illusion that they have cut the budget. It's simply a matter of taking your money from a different pocket. They probably hoped nobody would notice what they did.

House Bill 986:
The bill amends the Act of August 26, 1971 (P.L. 351, No. 91), known as the State Lottery Law, so that in fiscal years beginning before July 1, 2015, no less than 27 percent of the total revenues accruing from the sale of lottery tickets or shares shall be dedicated to property tax relief or reduced-fare transit service for older adults.

After June 30, 2015, the percentage of revenues dedicated for these purposes shall return to the rate of 30 percent as provided in the 1996 amendment to the law.

The bill also requires the Department of Revenue to submit annual public reports detailing lottery profits and plans for increasing future profits.

... and plans for increasing future profits.

* Lower PA income tax so we'd have more money to spend on tickets. (Or, make the slugs on welfare share their tickets.)

we all must stop playing the lottery

Maybe we should just stop the lottery all together. Really give you something to complain about.

You can thank state representative Marty Causer for this. He proposed that the lottery budget be looked into.

Why don't we all just go to Seneca Casino and make the Indians richer? I'd rather do that than have our blood sucking politicians getting more of my money . Idiots!
Definition of politics....
"Poli" , in Latin meaning "Many" And "tics" meaning "bloodsucking creatures."
